Mash Up Initial Ideas

Mash up 1

A house, like all matter is made of atoms, invisible building blocks of this world, is a machine for living in. A machine is a device consisting of atoms, which are erratically moving parts, moving from one place to another as though under constant agitation, that modifies mechanical energy and transmit it in a more useful form.

Mash up 2

Architecture should look for the laws of Nature as a support in its yearning for timelessness. Erosion is a natural process that breaks down rocks of its time and place, in collaboration with the creator.

Monuments in enviornement

Both monuments are placed on either side of a lake. The meeting point is an island in the middle of the lake to which the students must swim to.

The images in the light have been added only for clarity. The images taken at dawn support my concept found on:

Monument Re-design

Architectural Concept - "Into the Light"

My concept revolves around the idea of transitioning from the time of Sir Christopher Wren to Jean Nouvel. The transition alludes to the evolution of architectural styles over the past 400 years; moving from heavy, stone Gothic buildings to light, delicate buildings. It refers to the idea of transitioning into the age of enlightenment and technological advances which allowed the engineering and construction of a complex yet delicate designs.
