C: Autumn in Japan

This photograph was taken at the Kinkakuji shrine, also known as the the Golden Pavilion, in Kyoto. Kyoto, known as "the city of a thousand temples", was the first choice of target of the Americans during World War II. This decision was later revoked, solely due to the fact that destroying the city, would also destroy hundreds of places of worship and along with it, destroy thousands of years of history, which mankind was incapable of rebuilding. I took this photograph during my second trip to Japan in December 2012.
